Reliable MicroSystems has developed an automated radiation-aware analysis tool suite, called VIRAD (Vertically-Integrated Radiation-Aware Design), that spans the domains of complec IC design, from the physical to the functional. VIRAD merges the most advanced radiation-response models and statistical simulation techniques with visualization and intuitive analyses to empower a microelectronics designer with operational information and fault identification early in the design cycle. Not a Device Physicist? No Problem.
VIRAD captures all of the relevant physics and mathematics of radiation response, ready for application to your design topology. A deep knowledge of radiation physics or radiation mechanisms is not required to effectively apply VIRAD to radiation-hardened design. VIRAD empowers a non-specialist to perform radiation hardened by design (RHBD) and produce a fault-free circuit. Yet it’s advanced features allows RHBD specialists to dive deep into advanced scenarios and fault analyses.
